Community

Part of what it means to be ‘the church’ is to simply be a community who enjoys life together. There are groups of women, men, crafters, thinkers, singles, hikers, activists, artists, and many others who get together to share their common interests, passions and friendships. There are also concerts, suppers, socials, teas, arts shows, lectures and movie nights to enjoy. Whatever it is you’re looking for, no doubt there are others who’d love to do it with you.

men's breakfast group

Monthly on the First Saturday

We start gathering at 8:30am and breakfast is served at 9:00am.  Generally a guest speaker will give us a short presentation on a variety of topics after breakfast.  If you wish to be included on the email notification list contact the church office.  An email is sent out a week prior letting everyone know of the meeting and who the guest speaker will be.

sister friends

Five Events Throughout the Year

Sister Friends provides an opportunity for women of the church to meet in a social setting. All ladies are welcome and encouraged to attend. The group meets 6-8 times per year, with a variety of different activities planned. The gatherings provide a means for women to connect with one another in an atmosphere of faith, fun and fellowship.

solo sociables

on the edge concert series

Concert Series ~ October, January, March and May

The On The Edge Concert Series is a non-profit community program of Red Deer Lake United Church. Our mission is to host quality live musical acts at an affordable price for music lovers in Calgary and the surrounding Foothills communities. We strive to bring to our stage a variety of entertainment and musical genres that will appeal to a diverse audience. We are especially proud to showcase Alberta and Canadian talent, but may at times bring in acts from the USA.

craft group

Monthly on the Third Saturday

Come and enjoy working on your new or ‘in the works’ projects ... Card Making, Crochet, Knitting, Needlework, Quilting, Scrapbooking, Sewing - whatever you have on the go.

You can come for as long or short a time as you like for the day. If staying for the day we all bring a potluck dish for noontime or if you have special requirements, feel free to just bring your own lunch.

Bring a friend or neighbor! We all enjoy meeting new people and seeing new projects. We have an email list so we can send out reminders or changes to the schedule. If you do not have email access, we can always phone and let you know of a change.

forever young socials
