Your Role:
RDLUC is seeking an Accompanist to help plan music for our worship services. We are looking for a versatile pianist to accompany congregational singing, work with, and accompany small groups within our congregation. In addition, RDLUC enjoys a variety of musical styles and performance and seeks to expand musical offerings for its worship services to include choirs, worship bands, soloists, a variety of musicians, and other musical offerings. This position could possibly evolve into a Music Coordinator role in the future.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Worship Minister to suggest and coordinate music that integrates into the themes of our worship services.
Position Responsibilities:
Meet with Minister responsible for worship to discuss themes
Regular service accompanist - play hymns, preludes, interludes and postludes during the Sunday worship services (3-4 times per month, depending on schedule)
Practice with smaller groups from the congregation who will be providing music leadership
In the future, this may include coordinating outside musicians/groups to provide leadership for congregational singing and “special” music on some Sundays (accompanist not required on those days)
Requirements:
Excellent sight-reading ability
Superior piano accompaniment skills
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Comfortable with a wide-range of musical repertoire
This position will be paid per call as an accompanist.
