Come and experience this moving (prayerful) meditation that focuses on the breath and a closer connection to the unconditional love and healing of God’s universe!! Movements are (generally) slow and gentle. Find some peace, calm, happiness, strength, healing, and/or stillness inside. Come on out and try Qigong for Health and Wellness! Each week we gather to drink coffee and explore our faith. Nick will be taking a short break over the summer and returning again in September. Various members of the group will share the leadership and continue to meet.  It’s part community, part Bible Study, part coffee break! Just bring yourself!

banff men's conference

October 13-15

Location: The Coast Canmore Hotel in Canmore

The Banff Men’s Conference has been in existence for over fifty years. It is a gathering in late October of men from The United Church of Canada. Combining the beauty of the Rocky Mountains in Banff National Park, good food and companionship, and inspiring speakers, it has been a place of refreshment, retreat, challenge and inspiration for men over the years. This year’s speaker is Dr. David Long, PhD, who is particularly interested in asking questions in relation to the lives of boys and men, and over the years he has worked with many others interested in exploring them in the context of a wide variety of boys and men’s support groups, human service organizations, government agencies, as well as immigrant and First Nations communities.

labyrinth workshop

Sunday, October 14 at 10am

Location: Lower Hall

The Healing Ministry is offering our church family and the wider community the opportunity to experience our beautiful Labyrinth in a supported and facilitated way. This workshop will help people understand the history and uses of Labyrinths and their connection to individual and community spiritual growth. Individuals of all ages are welcome to attend and can signup on the Get Involved Table (beginning three weeks prior to the event). Coffee, tea and water will be available.

An all-female musical trio singing country and folk, are from the Alberta foothills area. They draw on Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, The Eagles, Bob Dylan and Cheryl Crow. Their comedic and heart-felt take on life give them a great rapport with the audience. Their combined hamonies and dynamic energy make thier performance brilliant and captivating. They were voted ACMA "Group of the Year" in 2011.

Please join us for a day of fellowship and a potluck lunch while working on those uncompleted projects you would like to get finished. Door is open by 10am and we would love to have you come and share all or part of the day with us.

Location: Lower Hall

You are welcome to bring your Little Ones for an unstructured playtime, while the Moms and Dads enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and chat. We have a small bouncy castle and some ride-on toys for the children available. Sandwiches will be served and you are welcome to bring a kid-friendly snack to share. It is a great way to have a laidback conversation while the kids burn off that extra energy! If you have any questions please call or text Judit Pothier at 403-998-6879.

healing ministry appointments

Location: Healing Rooms

These sessions support the healing of body, mind and spirit through the practice of gentle touch - nurturing, calming and restorative to help reduce stress and pain, promote relaxation, and enable faster recovery from illness, surgery and injury. Children and adults of all ages ... even pets ... benefit. Daytime appointments are fourth Monday each month at 1:30pm. Evening appointments are arranged as requested.

Sister Friends is a friendly gathering of all ladies at RDLUC. It is a great way to meet people, eat, laugh and share ideas for the 2017/18 season. This is a Potluck, we love to share our culinary skills!

sandwich bee

Monday, October 30 at 9am

Location: Midlands Link

Join us to prepare about 40 loaves of sandwiches for the Drop-in-Centre on the last Monday of each month. We gladly accept fillings or any offerings of condiments which can be brought into our fridge and labeled "sandwich bee". We appreciate any help you can give. Contact: Gerry Clark at (403) 256-1421.
