The 'On The Edge' Concert Series is a non-profit community program of Red Deer Lake United Church in southwest Calgary. Our mission is to host quality live musical acts at an affordable price for music lovers in Calgary and the surrounding Foothills communities. We strive to bring to our stage a variety of entertainment and musical genres that will appeal to a diverse audience. We are especially proud to showcase Alberta and Canadian talent, but may at times bring in acts from the USA.
The 'On The Edge' Concert Series uses the church sanctuary, which doubles as our concert hall, with seating for up to 300 people on a first come, first-seated basis. We have an exceptional venue with padded seating, excellent acoustics and a first class sound system. We are wheelchair accessible and a non-smoking environment.
Before our evening concerts, we usually offer a light supper including coffee, tea and pop, plus Chapman's ice cream bars. These refreshments (excluding the light supper features) are also available at intermission.

The Slocan Ramblers
Friday, May 4, 2018 at 7:30pm
The Slocan Ramblers are Canada’s young bluegrass band to watch. Rooted in tradition with fearless creativity, they possess a bold, dynamic sound, and have built a reputation for energetic live shows. Impeccable musicianship, blending lightning fast and devilishly intricate instrumentals with smooth vocals, they put on a vibrant show of acoustic music. The 4 players on banjo, mandolin, guitar and bass hail from the hipster streets of Toronto, and have toured all over Canada, the USA, and the UK, to rave reviews. This is one of Canada’s best bluegrass bands and they stay true to the roots of the music.
