Communications & Marketing Administrator

Your role would be to help us by using a variety of tools, mediums, and resources, brand the mission and ethos of RDLUC; effectively communicate why we are here and what we are doing with the church community; market who we are with the surrounding communities; create visuals for Sunday morning worship, and assist with administrative duties.


18 hours per week, afternoons Monday through Thursday

Position Responsibilities

Communications and Marketing

  • Use social media, website, design and other tools to communicate the life and work with the congregation, and market the life and work with the surrounding communities

  • Lead and support the Communications Team

  • Manage the church’s website and social media

  • Design and prepare our weekly publications

  • Coordinate and create advertising/marketing campaigns on a number of platforms

  • Draft press releases to promote the work and ministry of the church

  • Assist in the branding of RDLUC

  • Graphic Design – create graphics for website, posters, handbook, brochure, etc.  designs

  • Maintain community bulletin board updated weekly and coordinate and maintain the Get Involved Table


Experience with Canva, Squarespace, Google Suite, and Facebook is preferred.

It shall be noted that any graphics, posters, mediums or any and all other creative content, including audio, video, photos, blogs and social media, becomes, without exception, are the property of Red Deer Lake United Church.

Sunday Worship Preparation

  • Work alongside Minister and Worship Music Director to craft images and Google Slides for Sunday morning worship and create Sunday morning bulletin.

  • Maintain weekly service summary spreadsheet.


  • Embody RDLUC’s values of hospitality and love to all who enter the church building.

  • Answer phone and direct calls.

  • Work alongside and assist Administrative Coordinator in coordinating funerals and booking meetings.

  • Some administrative support and coverage.

Position reports to:  

  • Senior Minister and Ministry & Personnel (M&P) Representative; accountable to the Board through the Ministry and Personnel Team.

Pay & Benefits

  • Monthly salary of $1,534

  • Paid overtime may be requested and sent to M&P Team for approval.

  • Education allowance provided

  • Vacation – 2 weeks annual vacation after one year of service

  • As required by the United Church Canada, enrolled in the United Church Pension Plan, and benefits package
