upcoming events & programs

Jesus taught that God cares very much about how we treat each other and the world around us. We strive to help create a just, peaceful and loving world where there is room for everyone and everyone has enough. Here are some ways we strive to do that both locally and internationally.

For more information on various support available, an Outreach Directory is provided.

christmas projects

A variety of projects are selected during the season of Advent that the whole church can participate in.

No Crib for a Bed - November 26 to December 17

Help out a young family by donating important baby items like clothing, toys, books, soothers, shampoo, soap, wipes, and fruit squeezes. Diapers and formula are not needed. Please place all your items in the crib in the Link. We’ll make sure they get to their new home!

Angel Tree - November 26 to December 17

There are 93 Angels ready for you to take home and return. The Angel tree is located in the Midlands Link. Sign out your angel on the list and check off when you return your package.

Please return your wrapped gifts with the angel taped to the package by December 17.

Please let Rev. Nick or Vi know if you need any kind of support for your family or for others in our midst this Christmas. We encourage you to give yourself permission to receive!

sandwich bee

last monday of the month at 9am

RDLUC supports the Calgary Drop-In Centre by providing 40 loaves of sandwiches for the Centre once a month from September – June. You can either come and help put the sandwiches together or drop off fillings such as peanut butter, jam, margarine, condiments, lunch meats, tuna, salmon, etc.

school kits

september through october

Your Outreach Team works hard to respond to God's call to help those in trouble and in need, either in our own community or around the world.  Once again, we are asking for your generous support in filling School Kits for distribution to destitute, poor and needy children both in Canada and overseas. When we give a child an education, we are giving them the opportunity to grow and support themselves and others with the goal to break the poverty cycle they are trapped in. Please visit the table outside the Chapel and pick up your School Kit bags, requirement list and instructions. If you are not able to completely fill the bag with the list of items, please bring them back with whatever you are able to assist and we can help with the extras to complete the bag.

Return the filled bags by Sunday, October 15.
