what’s a sunday service?

Every Sunday we take some time to do the one thing we believe we need to do to be truly and fully human: take some time to connect with God, each other, and ourselves. That’s what a Sunday service is all about. Whether it’s through music, a spiritual practice, hearing a sermon or having a conversation about a Bible story or what’s happening in our world, experiencing some peace and grace, being in affirming community, or by exploring some wisdom and truths that Jesus teaches, each week we gather to do just that. Our hope and prayer is you’ll leave feeling seen, inspired or challenged, rested and grounded, and bit more alive and whole than when you came in.

If that resonates with you, come and join us for a Sunday. We’d love to have you.

We’re located in the SW corner of Calgary off the old 22x,highway, just west of Spruce Meadows.

New to this whole church thing? That’s okay. A lot of us are and a lot of us aren’t. That’s how we like it. Here’s a few things to know about us:

Come just as you are: seriously. One of a core values is community and we want you to come just as you are. There’s no need to dress up, wear whatever you want.

Do what you need to do: we invite you participate as much or as little as you like. We all connect with God in our own ways. All we encourage you to do is be open and use this time for you.

Do I have to believe it all? nope. A lot of us believe different things. That’s the beauty of it. You’re welcome with all your doubts, beliefs, differences, and questions. Those things all belong in faith & spirituality.

What about my kids? while we’re in the midst of overhauling our kids’ programs now that the pandemic is over, kids are so welcome. We’ve got activity books and a playroom they can use, and they are always welcome to hang out with you during the service. They belong in church too! Head here to find out what’s happening for kids & families.

Does it cost anything? Nope. While the church does run off of donations from our community and we do encourage everyone who calls RDLUC ‘home’ and believes in our work to donate as the can, there’s no expectation, especially if you’re just checking us out.

Is it online? Every week we post an online service to our youtube channel. If you aren’t feeling well or can’t make it to an in-person service, it is ok. You can still enjoy Worship when and where it works for you.
