Celebration of Life for Doris Moore

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Moore
 March 9, 1918 - May 23, 2020

Doris Moore, 102 years old -- our dear friend, and Mom to Marj (John), Noreen (Lawrence), Ken (Patricia) / Granny to Doug (Michelle), Kathy (Chris), Kevin (Amber), Don (Rebecca), Robert (Korinna), Ed (Lori) / and 16 Great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully in her sleep this past weekend, at her home in McKenzie Town where she has lived for the past 6 years.

Doris has been ready to go for awhile now and after a sleepless night on Friday, asked if Rev. Nick could come; she would like to have Communion. We were able to do that on Saturday morning, through FaceTime. Afterwards, Mom told everyone that Rev. Nick couldn't come because of the quarantine, but that he figured out how to make a plastic box so she could see him (didn't realize she was holding my iPhone) and we had communion together. We are thankful that Rev. Nick was able to provide this care for Mom. She prayed that God would take her, and Nick asked God to listen to her, and God did - that night.
How amazing Mom was -- she was able to use technology: to write her daily diary, play games to keep herself occupied, send cards and connect with so many friends. She learned to use FaceTime to "see" her family while in quarantine, and she would Google anything she didn't understand.

We all will miss her so much.

The service video will be available for viewing on June 13, 2020 at 2pm.
