June 10 - High Country Chorale will be performing in the Sanctuary at 2:30 pm. There will be door prizes and fabulous food to follow!

High Country Chorale is an adult mixed-voice chorale group with approximately 35 members.

They have an eclectic repertoire, performing Winter, Advent and Christmas music during the holiday season, and mixing old-time standards with medleys,  show music, folk, popular songs and  gospel favorites the rest of the year.

Come join us this Good Friday as we follow the path of Jesus to the cross in the reading of scripture, the singing of hymns and quiet reflection.

So, remembering this, we would ask you to wash one another’s hands at the washing stations, before coming into the sanctuary; remembering that we are called to love and serve in Jesus’ name.

To conclude this year’s RDLUC Reads Lenten Book project, a special event is being held to discuss the book’s highlights. The book chosen as the Lenten “good read” is NY Times Bestseller, The Stranger In the Life Boat, by Mitch Albom. This is a compelling novel exploring the question, “What would happen if we called on God for help and God actually appeared?” What a great question, eh? Faith Rumblings and RDLUC Reads are combining for one week to host an online discussion this Sunday, April 16th starting at 12:00 p.m. so all who attend online and in-person can gather online together. Red Deer Lake United Church is looking at getting feedback on our children, youth and young adult programs, and we need your help! As we reimagine our children's Sunday program, we would love to see you and your family for our Open Table discussion April 30th, 2023, after the service in the multipurpose room The event is for roughly half an hour and food will be provided!

Sunday School - In our discussion we hope to find out what parents and kids are hoping to get out of Sunday school. This includes what activities and events we could provide. Kids are an important part of this process because their voice matters too.

Youth Programing - We are also looking for input from our youth and young adults. We would like to begin some programing for our youth and young adults. We would like to know your vision about what a youth group program could look like and what types of activities or events people are interested in.

This process is intended to understand what our families, kids, youth and young people are needing from the church. The goal is to help us support families and young people in the church and provide programs that they are interested in.

They are coming to RDLUC to perform and share their gift of holiday music.

Light and Lament

Christmas is hard. Because of loneliness, family dynamics, financial stress, exhaustion, and so many other things, it isn’t always a season of joy and light. Every year we take time to honour, validate, and name the grief and pain we’re feeling and look to experience the hope Christmas offers. We invite everyone who finds Christmas hard, for any reason, to join us for Light & Lament, our evening of grief and hope.

Christmas Carol Sing-a-long - 1:00pm:

Join us for an hour of your favourite Christmas songs and stories. It’s a service for the young and the young at heart.

Christmas Eve with RDLUC - 7:00 pm: After two years apart we are SO excited for this! Join us at 7pm as we celebrate together. Our friend, the amazingly talented Jesse Peters will be bringing the music. Everyone is welcome, wanted, and accepted!

Christmas Eve online service - 8:00 pm: While we'd love everyone to celebrate Christmas Eve together at the church, we know that's not always possible, so we are going online at 8 pm on Christmas Eve with a special service just for you. Join Rev Nick as he takes us into the liberating & everything changing news of Christmas. Stick around afterwards for a time of wishing each other a Merry Christmas on Zoom at 9:00 pm.

Our friend Andrew Nicholson is back to lead us in music as we do all of that and connect with God, each other, and with ourselves.

We've all heard what Jesus is about, but have we heard what he's really about? With so many competing ideas, it can be hard to know just what being a Christian means and just what Jesus taught. That's why this fall we're taking time to look at what it's actually about and exploring the ideas, wisdom, and practices at the very heart of our faith and spirituality.

Spoiler alert: its not about getting into heaven. Its actually way better than that. Join us as we start exploring together on Sept 25, onsite and online.

As an affirming church we strive to centre racially diverse voices so we can learn how to be allies, advocates, and creators of a just and peaceful world.

This fall we're reading Desmond Cole's reflections on being a black man in Canada and the everyday, systemic, and institutional racism he experienced.
